Getting our slipper socks from Afghanistan is quite a challenge!

Once the slipper socks have been knitted, checked and sized, we have to get them out of Afghanistan, which is not easy.  Travelling by road is very dangerous, there are many bandits and the border guards can be very corrupt.  But despite all the challenges, our slipper socks made it through the Khyber Pass to Peshawar in Northern Pakistan, where they were packed and sorted for their long journey by ship to The United Kingdom.

So think of all the people involved in keeping your feet warm this Autumn! 

They are hand knitted by women who have been widowed in the conflict, buying our slipper socks really helps them earn an income and rebuild their lives.  Things have changed quite a bit under the new regime and many of the women who make our slipper socks have been internally displaced, so it could be a while until we get any more shipments from Afghanistan. 

Our Slipper Socks are the perfect winter alternative to cold feet! They are very versatile, they are usually worn around the house as slippers but can also be worn in your wellies as an extra pair of warm socks! 

This year we bring you, after lots of customer requests, a  fully vegan slipper sock, which comes with a faux leather vegan sole which is soft but handwearing on carpets and solid floors, and a sock that is knitted from a lovely soft acrylic yarn, that is hypoallergenic, not itchy and non scratchy!

They come in four sizes from  small to extra large, A small size is around UK size 2- 4, medium UK size 5 - 7, large UK size 8 - 10, XL UK size 11+. 

Our Slipper Socks are sold in packs of 10 mixed designs.  Each pack will be the same size, so to get a full range you would need to order at least a pack of 10 of each size. 

As per usual we will not be getting any more socks this season so when they're gone, they're gone!  They are always very popular, so order more than you need, otherwise when you sell out we won't be able to send you any more!
